I got my first digital camera almost 20 years ago. I thought it was amazing that I could take as many pictures as I wanted, and I didn't have to take the film to the drug store for it to get developed. Technology has come a long way since then. The things we can do with digital photography these days continues to amaze me!
DSLR and mirrorless cameras today can create amazing images. As photographers, we have control over everything from exposure to depth of field, and more. These pictures can then be enhanced as we edit them using various editing software (I use Lightroom and Photoshop). A photographer's editing style can make a lasting impression.
As a newborn photographer, I have loved exploring the possibilities that come with digital backdrops. I strive to create beautiful artwork for my clients. Being able to use digital backdrops opens so many doors. Take a look at this before and after:
It's not easy to make digital backdrops work. It can be tricky to make sure the baby blends realistically with the background. You don't want baby to look like they were copied and pasted on top of another image.
Here are a few of my favorite digital backdrops that I've used.
I'm excited to continue exploring this fun and magical part of newborn photography!
